Problem with the tutorial files

Post by paulwoman »

Good evening, sir.

I'm trying out the different tutorials.

Unfortunately, although at the moment it seems to be going well... It's in the Tuto n° 4

the moment I try to put the link as requested, it doesn't detect it properly.

After putting the link in, the sequence doesn't start.

I've attached the files from the affin folder so you can check what's wrong.

Thank you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Update :

I managed to make it work by "manually" putting in the sentences, without going through OmegaT. I don't know what's causing this bug...

If you want

https://pool343.seedbox.fr/files/index. ... y/download

If you want to check what's wrong, you can put what's in the zip in a folder and use OmegaT, which you'll find here

https://omegat.org/download

Choose version 5.2 carefully

It will be "enough" to open by doing ctrl O and to choose the T of which here is an image.

I tested tutorial 4 and was able to click the link successfully and proceeded to the next tutorial step. Could you please test it again and see if it is an one-time issue or a recurring one?

I have this problem with the translated version.

There is the file in question
tut04 problem.zip
(5.72 KiB) Downloaded 75 times
Appareil photo = "camera"
lotion de bain = Bath lotion "

And here's the version I created without omegat (which work well)
tut04 no problem.zip
(5.71 KiB) Downloaded 80 times
Which is why I would like someone to look at the file generated in the tut 04 file located in "target\Release\tutorial" in the zip drive I sent for omegat.

Also, I noticed some problems with other tutorials.

Here in the 3rd

The translation of the Portuguese version is progressing well.

Even though the language is different, there has "still" been a problem with the file generated by OmegaT in exactly the same place inside the tutorial 4. It was only "thanks" to the French version that I was able to solve the problem.

The most curious thing is that when comparing the two versions, there are no differences...

If you want, you can use the files of OmegaT to to check the problem http://sourceforge.net/projects/omegat/ ... e/download

https://github.com/paulwoman/Capitalism ... s/tag/Bug1
https://github.com/inrepublica/Capitali ... s/tag/Bug1

You only need to unzip the "source code" zip file. Then "just" open a project and select the compressed folder.

Note: the version on the servers are fully functional versions.

Thanks

Please make sure that the the following lines are not translated in Tutorial file tut04.txt, as they are read by the game engine to determine the tutorial flow.
[CONDITION]
Unit Linked=Sales, Advertising, 3, 5

That's what makes the bug more frustrating: there is no difference between the line you gave me and the version generated by the software .

Anyway, the version I put online works, that's the main thing.

There is one detail to be settled to make it easier:

The keyboard shortcuts for the objects are still in English.

The "English" word "Camera" is translated by "Appareil photo" and "Bath Lotion" by "Lotion de bain".

I can only do "C" and "B" to get them and not the first letter of the word in French.

Paulwoman, Thank you very much for reporting or bug

Now that I’ve completed tutorial 4, I hope you'll be able to make it work again.

and, again, I am very grateful for the help and support that Paulwoman has given me to be able to translate into Brazilian Portuguese.

Regarding shortcuts, I have the same problem in the Portuguese language.

Yes, it's. I took your changes into account thanks to the "WinMerge" software.

At least, it allowed me to confirm that it's a bug in the software and not in the language :) Now that I know this, it will be "easier" to redo this tutorial correctly in other languages.

You're welcome. It's a pleasure to make the game more accessible to as many people as possible. About that, I'm hoping to have news from fixgamer... Obviously, he didn't look carefully at the forum and the main page of the site.

fixgamer wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:20 am They could make official translations of the game, even if in the form of dlc or something like that, because I live in Brazil and I don't have much knowledge of English, and with each update / dlc, the game gets more and more complicated to manage due to lack of translation.
It would be great for us to be able to play the game 100% translated.
And for you who have already created this incredible game, I don't see much of a problem just creating translations for languages other than English.

It makes me think that David wrote a few years ago the reasons why it's players who translate and not a dedicated team, but I can't find the post.

I have a solution. We make up all the French and Portuguese words starting with the first letter of the English word. ^^
