MOD request

Post by porkndcheese »

Hi everyone,

I am a business teacher at an international school that wants to use this game to teach my students about real world economic simulation. The country I work in is a Muslim majority country so I would like a mod that has all the latest features but excludes products like:

cigarettes
alcohol
any other non child friendly products

If anyone knows of a mod that has this or is willing to help me, please reply and we can discuss this further.

I'm currently in the middle of putting together a big Mod, so I don't really have time, else I'd happily take this on. Seems to me you'd need to start here:

UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESSES
Islamic law identifies business activities as haram when they generate profits in unacceptable ways. Haram business activities include the manufacture or marketing of any of these products:
Alcohol
Gambling or gaming activities
Conventional financial services
Pork and pork products
Pornography
In addition, most Shariah scholars advise against investing in tobacco companies or those involved in weapons and other defense-industry products. And many classify the entertainment industry in general as haram.

In its simplest form that would mean removing a few products that pre-exist (eg. Frozen Pork, etc) and not adding any new ones. It may be useful to tweak the demand profile ever so slightly as well because of this. I'm also pretty certain that Dolls would be an issue for Muslims as I seem to remember toys with a human likeness are forbidden, but maybe someone else knows better on that point. Doesn't sound like a huge task, but like I said unfortunately I am busy at the moment. If this hasn't been picked up in a month or so, I will happily oblige however.

hhmmm...seems like something David could reach out to the developers about assisting with.

you can disable specific categories of products in the game.....that may work as well.....I say reach out to David I'm sure they will be happy to assist.
