Open Source?

Post by crammo »

Hi,

I think CapLab should be Open Source, because CapLab likely won't be ported to Linux and with sources of it we'll be able to do it.

Quite probable and just as probable it runs under a Windows emulator for Linux?!

Wine is very slow.

And Cap2 doesn't work on Wine...

Has anyone been able to make it work on Linux, with wine or anything? I tried with different virtual Windows operating systems and different virtual OS programs. Couldn't get anything useful.

When I try to run it under wine, I get an error: http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=22229

Not being suitable for Wine is reported here as an issue: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3467

Edit: Apparently running it under linux is an issue of another topic, I'm creating one under the Technical Support section.

Open sourcing I think would have a number of benefits for the Capitalism community, not sure how it would benefit the developer though.
