The current Legendary Investor public challenge running since 1st May to 31st December contains a goal requiring the player to control 5 different companies.
However, the Stock Market is unavailable and the Subsidiary DLC is not activated, since it's a base game challenge: there is thus no way to get your hands on any other company.
