Going online is on the table for developers?

Hi folks. As a long-time enthusiast player, I am wondering if there are plans for this game to go online? I guess it will be much more fun to compete with real players, rather than AI. I know that there are other online games such as Virtonomics or Sim Companies, but Capitalism is just much more interactive. Any ideas?
