R&D settings
What settings does everyone use for R&D? I always go for 2 years research projects with exception to inventions of course. And how important do you consider inventions for your gameplay?

I do 1year research at the start (of new products) and later when my factory (or factories) are at full demand, i switch to 3year research so the manufactering units have time to upgrade through training.
Researching new inventions depends on which market your focusing. If your nore focusing on those electro and computer products.... no need to spend money and time on inventing them
Later on if/when you decide to go into those fields anyway, you can always buy the tech from competitors
