Display Modes
Capitalism Lab supports two display modes:
- Full Screen (Borderless Windowed)
- Windowed Mode
You can easily switch between these modes and adjust the game’s resolution from the Options menu.
How to Change the Display Mode or Resolution
- From the main menu, click Options.
- Select the Screen Mode tab at the top of the Options menu.
- Choose your preferred display mode and resolution.

Flexible Resolution Support
Capitalism Lab supports resolutions ranging from 1024 × 768 up to 3840 × 2160 (4K) and beyond.
If your desktop resolution is not listed, the game will automatically use a matching custom resolution.
Resizable Windowed Mode
In Windowed Mode, you can freely adjust the width and height of the game window to fit your screen and workflow.

How to Increase Text Size
If the text appears too small to read comfortably, you can use the built-in display scaling feature to enlarge the entire game interface.
Display Scaling in Full Screen Mode
- Open Options from the main menu.
- Select Screen Mode.
- Choose Full Screen (Borderless Windowed).
- Adjust the Custom Scale-Up Slider to make everything larger.

Example: If you see 1600 × 900 Scaled 120% to 1920 × 1080, the game renders at 1600 × 900 and then scales the image to fit a 1920 × 1080 display, making text and interface elements larger and easier to read.
Display Scaling in Windowed Mode
If the text is too small while using Windowed Mode:
- Select a lower window resolution.
- The display scale slider will become available.
- Increase the scaling percentage to enlarge the interface.

Example: A window resolution of 1360 × 768 scaled to 120% creates a larger display area, making menus and text easier to read.
Using Dual Monitors
If you use two monitors, Windowed Mode is often the best option.
You can resize the game window and increase the display scale to make text larger while keeping access to applications on your second screen.
About Borderless Windowed Mode
Borderless Windowed Mode looks like full-screen mode, but the game actually runs inside a borderless window that covers the entire screen.
Advantages
- Quickly switch to other applications using Alt+Tab.
- No screen flickering or resolution changes when switching programs.
- Works well for multitasking.
- Generally provides a smoother desktop experience.
Possible Trade-Offs
- Slightly lower performance compared to exclusive full-screen mode.
- May introduce a small amount of additional input latency on some systems.
Why Is Only One Resolution Available?
In Borderless Windowed Mode, Capitalism Lab uses the same resolution as your Windows desktop. Because of this, only one resolution is normally available.
If you want to use a different resolution while running in Borderless Windowed Mode, you must first change your desktop resolution in Windows.
