Redirect Supply Links
When one of your suppliers fails, every firm that bought from it is left with a broken supply link. This tool repairs all of them at once.
Used at a Sales unit, it finds your firms whose broken links need the item this unit sells, and points them here.
The situation it exists for: a mine’s mineral reserve runs out, and every purchasing unit in your factories that bought from it stops. You build a replacement mine, click the button once, and every affected factory is reconnected.
Without it, you fix each purchasing unit by hand.
A worked example
A supplier runs out
Your logging camp has exhausted its timber.
Production stops downstream
The factory that relied on that timber has halted.
Build a replacement
Find a new natural resource site and build a new logging camp on it.
Find the icon on its Sales unit
Click the Sales unit of the new camp and the Redirect Supply Links icon is there.
Hover over it for its help message.
Click it
Every affected purchasing unit is redirected to the new supply. In this example the message reports 3 firms found needing timber, all reconnected to the new logging camp.
