Ordering and Account
Q: How will the game be delivered to me after I order it?
After ordering Capitalism Lab, you will receive an email with a download link and a registration key for installing the game. With a high-speed Internet connection, the full download process typically takes only a few minutes.
Q: What should I do if I haven’t received the email with my registration key after ordering?
If you do not receive the email shortly after your purchase, please check your spam or junk folder in case it was accidentally filtered there.

Q: I forgot the login user ID for my Capitalism Lab account. How can I retrieve it?
You can enter your email address and password on this webpage, and it will show your user ID.
Q: I forgot both my login user ID and password for my Capitalism Lab account. Is there a solution?
If you also forgot your password, you can enter only your email address on this webpage.
Installation and Download
Q: Do I have to install Capitalism 2 first in order to run Capitalism Lab?
No. Capitalism Lab can run independently without Capitalism 2 installed on your computer.
Q: I have lost my Capitalism Lab installer file. Where can I download it again?
To re-download the Capitalism Lab installer, click here.
Q: I’ve purchased a new computer. How can I install Capitalism Lab on it? Do I need to register it again?
You can download the Capitalism Lab installer from the download page and install it on your new computer.
You can use your existing Capitalism Lab account, so there is no need to register again.
Q: Can I install two different release versions of Capitalism Lab on the same computer?
Yes. For example, if you want to keep both version 11 and version 12 on your computer, you can install version 11 first, then install version 12 in a different folder.

Q: Is Capitalism Lab available in languages other than English?

Troubleshooting
Q: On the Single Player Game menu, nothing happens when I click the Custom Game option.
Please check whether you have antivirus software running in the background. The firewall in your antivirus software may be blocking the game’s communication with the game server. Please refer to your antivirus software’s user manual for instructions on how to add Capitalism Lab to its approved apps list.
Q: I ran Capitalism Lab and saw a black screen, or the game crashed when I ran it.
Q: The frame rate is very low, and the mouse is lagging.
Q: I cannot run Capitalism Lab in windowed mode.
In your My Documents folder, find the My Games folder and then the Capitalism Lab subfolder. Delete the file CONFIG.DAT, then check whether the problem has been resolved.
Q: I received the error message “Error accessing the User Documents folder for save games.”
Mac, Linux, and Display Settings
Q: Does Capitalism Lab run on a Mac computer?
While Capitalism Lab is not natively compatible with Macs, you can still run it on a Mac by following the instructions provided on this webpage.
Q: Does Capitalism Lab run on Linux?
While Capitalism Lab is not natively compatible with Linux, you can still run it on Linux by following the instructions provided on this webpage.
Q: I run Capitalism Lab on a 4K monitor, and the text in the game is too small to read.

Save Games and Files
Q: How do I find my Capitalism Lab savegame files?
To access the Capitalism Lab savegame folder, click the Open Savegame Folder icon in the bottom-right corner of the load-game or save-game menu, as shown below.

Q: Does Capitalism Lab come with a PDF manual?
Capitalism Lab does not include a separate PDF manual. Instead, the Capitalism Lab website provides extensive documentation covering the game’s features, gameplay systems, and the many enhancements introduced since Capitalism 2.

Beta Version and Launcher
Q: What is the Capitalism Lab Post-Release Beta version?

Q: How can I disable auto patching in the Capitalism Lab Launcher?
Place a dummy file called no_auto_patch.txt in your Capitalism Lab folder. When the Capitalism Lab Launcher detects the file, it will no longer perform auto patching.
To create no_auto_patch.txt, simply open Notepad and save an empty text file as no_auto_patch.txt in your Capitalism Lab folder.
To find the Capitalism Lab folder location, right-click the Capitalism Lab icon on your Windows desktop and select Open file location from the pop-up menu.
