Management Game – Enhanced Management Policies

With the enhanced management policies system, you can customize a wide range of operational and strategic settings for your C‑suite executives.

Chief Operating Officer

The screen below shows the enhanced management policies available for your Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Pricing strategy

A slider lets you tell your COO how to set prices. It runs from Maximize Profit Margin to Maximize Market Share, with Balanced in between.

  • Maximize Profit Margin — maximize profit margins by raising prices, at the expense of market share and capacity utilization rates.
  • Maximize Market Share — lower prices to gain market share, at the expense of profit margins.
  • Balanced — balance market share against profit margins and set prices sensibly.

The other policies

  • Freight Concern — set this high and the AI executive pays more attention to freight costs, and tends to pick suppliers closer by.
  • Never sell products below costs — when enabled, the AI executive will never sell a product below cost.
  • Look for better supplies — whether the AI executive should look for better supplies in retail stores, factories and warehouses. Better supplies means products with higher overall ratings and no shortage of supply. Note that the AI will not change the product type when it sources new supplies.
  • Low Supply Tolerance Level — set this low and the AI tolerates low supply less, so it looks for new supply sooner.
  • Look for better products to sell in retail stores — whether the AI executive should look for better products, in retail stores only. Here the AI may change the product types at will.

The remaining policies are straightforward and self-explanatory.

Improvements to the hiring system

To support early‑stage management needs, every game guarantees the presence of one person with no expertise, regardless of the AI Expertise setting. That gives you a low-cost COO to fall back on when budgets are tight.

You will usually find this person as the second entry in the Person Report. They never start a company of their own, so they stay available to hire at any time.
