Solution for Error Accessing User Documents folder

If you received the error message, “Error accessing the User Documents folder for save games,” it means the game is unable to access the game folder using the default file path provided by the Windows system.

To resolve this, please follow these steps to tell the game about your game folder path manually:

1) Click here to download a ZIP file containing GameFolder.TXT

2) Extract GameFolder.TXT from the downloaded ZIP file into your Capitalism Lab program folder. (See the below section about how to locate your Capitalism Lab program folder)

3) Open GameFolder.TXT with a text editor such as Notepad.

4) It contains a line as follows: C:\Users\<Your Windows username>\Documents\My Games\

Change the line to a valid path in your harddisk that points to the \Documents\My Games\ folder, and then save the file.

If your Windows username contains non-alphanumeric characters, please set the path to a location that Windows allows for writing files. For example, you can create a folder on your D drive named D:\My Games and set the content of GameFolder.TXT to D:\My Games.

5) Run the game to see if the issue is resolved.

To locate your Capitalism Lab program folder:

• Right-click on the Capitalism Lab game icon.
• Select Properties.
• Click Open File Location to access the folder.

Your Capitalism Lab program folder path should look like this: C:\Users\<Your Windows username>\AppData\Local\Capitalism Lab
