Script – Environment

The [ENVIRONMENT] section sets the world the game starts in — how many cities, how much capital, what the economy does.

Cities

Number of Cities=<1 to 10>

The ceiling rises to 15 with the City Economic Simulation DLC enabled.

Starting capital

Your Start-up Capital=<Very Low, Low, Moderate, High, Very High>

The level of cash your corporation begins with.

Your Start-up Capital Amount=<1 to 10000>

Use this instead to set an exact figure. The unit is millions of dollars, so the range is $1M to $10,000M.

Your Initial Personal Cash=<0 to 100000000>

The player’s personal cash. The unit here is dollars, not millions — so the range is $0 to $100 million. The default is $1 million.

The world and the economy

Game Starting Year=<1900 to 2100>

Random Events=<Never, Seldom, Occasional, Frequent>

Plagues, animal diseases, power outages, and the economic damage they do.

Boom-Bust Cycle Volatility=<Low, Moderate, High>

Macro Economy Realism=<Low, High>

Inflation=<Off, On, Inverse>

See Inflation Simulation for what Inverse changes.

Inflation Strength=<Normal, Reduced>

Stores, brands and the stock market

Retail Store Type=<One, Many>

Many enables specialist stores — supermarkets, furniture stores and the rest. One restricts the game to department stores.

Brand Strategy=<Corporate Brand, Range Brand, Unique Brand>

The strategy your corporation starts on.

Stock Market=<Yes, No>

Alternative Stock Sim=<Yes, No>

See Stock Market Enhancement.

Technology

Technology Disruption=<Yes, No>

Product Customization turns this off automatically, and the two genuinely cannot coexist: Product Customization needs technology levels to rise linearly to work, while Technology Disruption cuts every level by 10% a year.

AI persons

Number of AI Persons=<number of competitors + 8, to 120>

The total number of AI persons, which can be set higher than a standard game allows.

There is a floor, and the game enforces it silently. The value must be at least the number of competitors + 8, or 30, whichever is greater. Set it lower and the game resets it to the minimum without telling you.

Subsidiary DLC only

Subsidiaries=<0 to 3>

How many subsidiaries your company owns at the start.

Private Company=<Yes, No>

Set to Yes and your company starts as a private company.

Retail Store Floors=<One, Multiple>

Multiple allows more than one floor in a single retail store.

City Economic Simulation DLC only

First City Population=<20 to 100>

In Survival Mode, the first city’s starting population as a percentage of a normal starting city. Lower means a smaller city to build from.

This line does nothing unless the City Economic Simulation DLC is enabled.
