Moving Capitalism Lab to a Different Folder

We recommend keeping Capitalism Lab in its default installation folder, as the auto-patch function requires this location to work correctly. Moving the game will prevent Windows from granting the necessary permissions for auto-patching.

If you prefer to move Capitalism Lab to a different folder, you can use one of the following methods:

Option 1: Move the Folder

After installing Capitalism Lab, you can move the entire folder, including all subfolders, to your desired location (e.g., D:\Games\Capitalism Lab).

  1. Locate the Capitalism Lab folder by right-clicking the game icon on your desktop, selecting “Properties,” and clicking “Open File Location.“
  2. Move the entire folder and all its subfolders to your preferred location.
  3. Launch the game from the new folder by double-clicking CapStart.exe.

Option 2: Extract with 7-Zip

Note that you don’t need to run the Capitalism Lab installer with this method.

  1. Download and install the free 7-Zip tool from https://www.7-zip.org/.
  2. Right-click the Capitalism Lab installer file (Capitalism_Lab_Installer.exe), select “7-Zip” > “Open Archive,” then choose “Extract” and select your preferred folder.
  3. Launch the game from the new folder by double-clicking CapStart.exe.
