Bank Branch
A bank branch is a retail location where a bank serves its customers face to face.

Set up a Bank Headquarters first. Branches cannot be opened without one.
Overview
The branch’s operation at a glance. The deposit interest rate and the staff training budget are both set here.
A change to the deposit interest rate applies to the entire bank, not just this branch.

| Figure | What drives it |
|---|---|
| Staff skill level | The training budget you set. With the City Economic Simulation DLC enabled, the city’s education level affects it too. |
| Customer waiting time | How busy the branch is. A long wait drags service quality down — the answer is more branches. |
| Quality of service | Primarily the staff skill level. Once customer waiting time passes 30, it starts to pull this down. |
| Bank brand rating | The bank’s brand in the current city. Raise it with advertising, on the Marketing tab. |
Deposits
The customer deposits this branch holds — saving accounts and time deposits of various term lengths.

You set only the 1-year time deposit rate, on the Overview page. Every other term length is derived from it automatically.
Raising the deposit interest rate is the most effective way to attract more customer deposits.
Competition
Each competing bank’s share of customer deposits in this city, and the interest rates they offer.

Marketing
Advertise on selected media channels to raise the bank’s brand rating.

The gameplay mechanics
How many deposits a branch attracts comes down to four things together:
- the deposit interest rate
- the quality of service rating
- the bank’s brand rating
- the branch’s location — see the customer traffic index at the top right of the branch screen
Profitability follows from the pool of deposits. The bank lends that money to borrowers and keeps the difference between the loan interest it earns and the deposit interest it pays.
